Our
Story

Fågelhund Flower Farm is a small cut flower farm nestled in Vacaville, California. We grow seasonal blooms for florists and flower lovers who appreciate fresh, locally grown flowers with character.

What started as Emily’s dream of growing a “larger” garden has blossomed into a full-fledged flower farm she runs with her husband, Matt. Emily, a veterinarian by trade, brings her love for living things into every part of the farm—from curating unique flower varieties and color palettes to, occasionally, bringing home animals that need a soft place to land.

Matt brings over 20 years of experience working in agriculture across a range of roles and companies. He’s passionate about applying that deep knowledge to their own soil—handling the agronomy and day-to-day growing with both technical skill and care.

Our blooms lean toward the uncommon—flowers that don’t ship well or are hard to find because of their fragility or fleeting nature. We let customer feedback guide what we grow, always keeping an ear to what our florists and local community are excited about.

Fågelhund Flower Farm is also home to a rotating cast of livestock, from chickens to a small flock of heritage-breed Gotland sheep. These animals graze the parts of the property we don’t farm, help maintain healthy pasture, and contribute to a full-circle system—manure from the animals is composted and used to enrich the flower fields.

We’re growers, not designers. Our goal is simple: grow beautiful, vibrant, interesting flowers and share them with people who love them as much as we do. Whether you’re a florist, a home gardener, or just someone who wants a bit of beauty on your table, we’re happy you’re here.
